Event Details

Wisconsin author Doris Green will discuss her book, Elsie’s Story:  Chasing a Family Mystery, a memoir about the puzzling circumstances surrounding her aunt’s death.  Green will also provide tips and tricks on how to find and share your own family history.

July 31 date marks the 58th anniversary of her Aunt Elsie’s mysterious death in a northern Wisconsin tavern.  The death of Green's aunt inspired a decades-long quest for answers. Was her death suicide? Accident? Murder? Green’s quest involved the tools of journalism and genealogy, along with hypnosis and other alternative means. It led to secrets, surprises, and, finally, a solution, as told in Elsie’s Story: Chasing a Family Mystery.

Green has been named a winner in the 2018 Book Excellence Awards Competition by Literary Excellence Inc. The international book awards program attracts hundreds of applicants and provides winning authors with opportunities to showcase their books on a global platform. Elsie’s Story received the top award in the “Family” category.  Books will be available for sale and signing.
